Subject Matter Expert Review
Been rocking this Red 1 USA ShivWorks MkII holster for a bit and am happy with it. Things I like- g17 length (rides where it needs to even if carrying g19 or 26.) Double fixed loops- for me personally, I prefer fixed loops, sized to the belt I'm wearing, for maximum security. If they're narrow, there should be two. Performance trumps convenience here. This ensures the gun's grip stays in a consistent, predictable position and one loop is also a backup in case the other comes undone. Two positions to choose from for ride height, the holster is blocked out to allow different RDS, slide stops, sights to fit. The built in wedge near the muzzle tucks the grip tighter against your gut. The ledge on the sweatguard can be used to kick the holster off the gun with one hand/your thumb if you're retrieving the gun and holster from a bag, table, drawer etc. Very clean work and design overall. Add this one to your list of AIWB holsters worth trying out.
